Walking home after a long day starting from brunch in Soho to taking apart massive furniture in the financial district, I was back in Midtown after dropping off a friend at Port Authority, decided to go down 53rd for my walk home instead and ran into a lovely vintage shop. Unlike most pretentious “vintage” boutiques, I felt welcomed and greeted by the store owner, Sandra who later tells me of her travels in South Korea in the 70s. and how president Park did not like foreigners taking photos in the country. I had no idea! There were such a wide range of goodies to be found, from typewriters (free chocolate inside), fabric textiles and some crazy unique jewelry!
I disciplined myself to just one and chose an Adrienne Vittadini color block sweater. And lucky for me it was on sale 50% off to $31. Steal.
Definitely planning on stopping by more on the way home from now on.
DIY Dye T-shirt
Just a plain black Tee, twist and add Clorox Bleach
(sparingly! or it’ll look too blotchy, I used a qtip to get the streaked patterns)
DIY Ombre Dip-dye Knit
Madewell knit $105
kinda pricey so mad my own.. $5.95 H&M shirt bought last year + $2 Some Clorox Bleach = around $100 savings- and now you have a uniqe version that’s one of a kind
All you have to do is mix the Clorox with some water and dip your striped shirt, hand dry and add Clorox to stripes that need more bleach for a more evened look!
